Three years after JY Lee's debut with a jazz instrumental album, the musician returns with completely different sounds.
JY Lee, who officially entered the music scene by his own name in 2012 with a jazz album, Perfect Sky, releases "Note to Self in Fifty Years" that is soaked in powerful sounds. Contributing members include Jong-Yeon Lee (drum) of Remnants of the Fallen, private equity manager Joon-ho Moon (vocal), while the musician takes charge of all other parts of the encompassing process from guitar, bass, piano, synth, composing, lyrics, arrangement, mixing, to video by JY Lee himself. By writing a letter to future self who would be an elderly man in 50 years, the song in turn encourages, as Charles Dickens would say, to reflect upon our present.
